Rev.com can be a great way to do that. Rev.com is a website where companies and individuals, businesses, churches, schools, whoever, they can hire this company to do transcription services for them, as well as audio captioning and services for videos.

And as far as their workforce, they basically crowdsource their work from people like you and me, who would be interested in picking up some extra work at home. 

If you go onto their website, there's a short like little tests that you take, there's not really an application, they don't really care about your work. They just care about whether or not you can do the job. So if you have good attention to detail if you're really good at typing, if you can type quickly, which is a very important thing, if you want to make money at more than a snail pace, you know, if you pass that assessment, then you can go ahead and become a transcriptionist or a captioning host with rev.com.

Once you've signed up for them, all of their payments go through PayPal. So if you have a PayPal account, great, it will just go through there and then you can transfer it into a bank account. If you don't have a PayPal account, it's time to sign up for it. It's free.

Basically, it's just kind of a third party between another company and your bank. So nothing to really worry about. It's just this extra thing that they can send their money to easily online. And basically as far as how the payment works is your paid per job.

So you'll go in and you'll see a whole list of different jobs that you can take on as you move on up and you become more experienced. They have different levels of audio, transcriptionist, and audio captions that can make a little bit more money depending on their seniority.

These are going to be anywhere from I would say, averaging from like, as small as two to five minutes of audio to anywhere up to an hour of audio. And the longer the audio is that you're transcribing, the more money you're going to make.

And so they have their own software program that space just in the browser, you don't have to download anything. And you'll go through, you'll listen to the audio and you'll type it as you're going on. They do have very specific formatting that they require for less. And as far as the different people, you know, like things that you're going to be transcribing.

You have to be able to not just listen very carefully, but you have to be able to type very quickly as well. And if you don't do that, then you're going to spend like two or three hours on a project that you have to keep going back to and typing in and going back and typing, and you'll make like $6 an hour, and that's not so great. But if you want to make like $10 an hour or $12 an hour, it will be advantageous to be someone who can type really quickly.

There's no minimum commitment or maximum commitment that you have to have week by week, you can literally just work whenever you want to. So that's a really nice thing about it.
